NFF to honour Vincent Enyeama on March 26 when he wins his 100th cap against Bolivia

altSUPER Eagles skipper Vincent Enyeama is to be honoured on March 26 when he wins his 100th cap for Nigeria during an international friendly against Bolivia at the Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo.

Currently playing for Lille in France, Enyeama, 32, currently has 99 caps and will join Joseph Yobo as the only other Nigerian to have played 100 times for the Super Eagles if he plays against Bolivia. Yobo, who skippered Nigeria to the last World Cup, is Nigeria's most capped player ever with 101 appearances for the Super Eagles.

Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) officials plan to hold a special reception for Enyeama to mark his winning 100 caps. Top make things sweeter for the player, the match is taking place at his home town of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State.

Enyeama said: “Nothing matches being recognised by your own country. I am very excited at the prospect of reaching 100 caps and more so at the decision by the NFF to honour me on the day.

“The NFF media department has also been speaking with me and I have followed the publicity they have generated about it. It is a delight and I am also excited by the fact that it will happen in Uyo, my hometown. What a great honour.”

Of his 99 caps so far, Enyeama picked the Nigeria/Argentina World Cup match at the Ellis Park Stadium, Johannesburg on June 12, 2010 as his best so far. Earlier this year, Enyeama was named the 2014 Goal Nigeria Player of the Year for his exploits with Lille and the Super Eagles.
